Chula Vista, San Diego County
Chula Vista means beautiful view in Spanish, and for decades the view was of lemon groves. In the early 1900s growers here shipped so much fruit that the town called itself the Lemon Capital of the World. The orchards gave way to housing after World War II, but the city still marks the history with a Lemon Festival each summer.
